The Markesan Water & Sewer Utility operates and maintains the City's water and sewer infrastructure, including the treatment plant, sewer mains, wells, water mains, hydrants, and towers. The treatment plant provides for the cost effective treatment of all wastewater discharged into the sanitary sewer system by Markesan residents and businesses. The utilities are subject to rules & regulations of the Wisconsin Public Service Commission and Wisconsin DNR.
The Water & Sewer Utility employs two full-time people.
Regular hours of operation are 6:30am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday.
Water & sewer bills are sent out quarterly. Meters are read in the months of March, June, September and December. Bills are typically issued about the first of the month in April, July, October, and January, and are then due about the 20th of those months.

Cancel or Establish Service
If you need to cancel your service, or establish service in your name, please call City Hall at 920-398-3031 so that a final read can be done.
If you are moving, please call as soon as possible so the final read can be made. You will continue to be responsible for charges on the account if you do not notify the City that you have moved.
