City Clerk/Treasurer
The Clerk/Treasurer is the official records custodian for all City-related matters. The Clerk/Treasurer's office is responsible for the preparation, execution, and archiving of all City documents as prescribed by State law and City Code. As a combined office, the Clerk/Treasurer is also responsible for all financial & accounting functions for the City, including monitoring the budget.
Duties of the Clerk's Office include:
- Archiving and maintaining City documents, official proceedings (minutes), ordinances, and resolutions
- Maintaining board and commission applications and appointments
- Administering alcohol, cigarette and other business licensing
- Maintaining election materials and records, and providing voting information
- Issuing dog licenses
- Publicizing legal notices
- Responding to requests for information from residents, and other interested parties
- Accounts payable & receivable, payroll, and other accounting functions
- Human resource management for City employees

When is City Hall open?
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
*on the occasion where City Hall is closed during normal hours, it will be posted on the door and on the website
Where do I go to vote?
All wards of the City vote at the same polling location, City Hall, 150 S. Bridge St., Markesan. Polls are open from 7:00am to 8:00pm on election days.
